Laura Hamel

Laura Hamel's work experience includes various roles at different companies. Laura started their career at Soar Technology, Inc. in 2002 as a Software Engineer. Laura then progressed to become an Engineering Manager in 2021 and ultimately became the Director of Engineering in October 2022, a position they currently hold.

In addition to their work at Soar Technology, Inc., Laura has also been involved with U-Con Gaming Convention since 2000. Laura has held various positions within the organization, including Convention Chair in 2006, 2009, and 2011, as well as a Board Member since 2011. Laura played a significant role in organizing annual events for a large number of participants and created a website for event submissions, ticket purchases, and convention registrations.

Overall, Laura's work experience showcases their progression within the software engineering field, as well as their leadership and organizational skills demonstrated during their involvement with the U-Con Gaming Convention.

Laura Hamel attended Novi High School from 1993 to 1997. Laura then went on to the University of Michigan from 1997 to 2000, where they pursued a degree in Computer Engineering. Finally, from 2000 to 2001, Laura obtained a MSE degree in Computer Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan.
