Jim Barren

Jim Barren has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jim began their career in the US Army in 1989 and served in various roles until 2013. Jim then worked as the Chief of Current Plans (Future Operations) at ISAF between 2013 and 2014. From 2014 to 2017, they held positions as the Director of Operations and Chief of Staff at the United States Military Academy at West Point. In 2017, they joined Army West Point Athletics as the Associate Athletic Director for Administration, a role they held until 2018. Jim Barren then transitioned to Sobieski Mechanical & Fire Protection, where they served as the Director of Process Improvement in 2018 before being promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations in 2019.

Jim Barren completed their education in a chronological manner. Jim began their academic journey from 1985 to 1989 at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in the field of History. Jim then pursued higher education at the Naval Postgraduate School from 1997 to 1999, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Operations Research. Lastly, from 2011 to 2012, Barren attended the United States Army Command and General Staff College, where they acquired a Master of Arts (MA) degree focusing on Strategic Planning and Theater Operations.
