SAY San Diego
Grace Nakashima is a dedicated community organizer currently advocating for tobacco control and LGBTQ-centered harm reduction initiatives at SAY San Diego. Recent experience includes an internship at the Family Health Centers of San Diego, where responsibilities involved Hepatitis C testing for unhoused individuals, and a public health practicum at UC San Diego, focusing on food insecurity among undergraduates. Additional roles include educating the public at Birch Aquarium, coaching at Mar Vista High School to enhance college readiness, and co-leading habitat restoration projects for the Marin Municipal Water District. Grace holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a focus on Epidemiology from UC San Diego and has a background in natural sciences and cinematic arts.

SAY San Diego (Social Advocates for Youth) is a dynamic, nonprofit organization that strengthens the whole child, whole family, and whole community. SAY was established in 1971 and serves more than 30,000 individuals, prenatal through adult, each year. SAY’s Mission is to partner with children, families, and communities to overcome barriers and create opportunities that enable them to realize and sustain their full potential.
