Gary Johnston has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Gary started their career at CRS Australia, where they served as a Divisional Manager, leading a team of managers and guiding staff to deliver on budget, KPIs, and quality. Gary also worked as a National Account Manager for Mental Health and Addiction Services. Gary then transitioned to the role of UK Director of Operations at Argent Rehabilitation, where they merged two separate rehabilitation companies and significantly increased the company's revenue and staff count. Gary later served as the UK Head of Health and Wellbeing at Shaw Trust, where they led a transformational change project and established a clinical service delivery platform. Gary then became the UK Director of Operations at HCML Rehabilitation Solutions, managing a team of over 110 staff and overseeing 26,000 cases per year. Gary also pursued an MBA in Leadership and Change at the University of Brighton. Currently, they are working at Social Finance as the HEP Director of Operations, where they research, advises, and oversees the implementation of innovative health solutions, contributes to government policies, and leads various projects.

Gary Johnston has a diverse education background. Gary obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with honors from UNSW in 1988, specializing in organizational behavior. In 1989-1990, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in Counseling and Psychotherapy at the University of Sydney, specializing in Mental Health Counseling/Counselor. Later, from 1994 to 1996, they completed a Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Counselling at the University of Sydney, specializing in Wellness models for complex health conditions. In 2016-2017, they attended the School of Business and Law at the University of Brighton, earning an MBA with Distinction and specializing in Leadership and Change. Additionally, in 2009, Gary obtained an International Certification in Disability Management (CDMP) from NIDMAR. Gary has also attained various certifications, including ISO 9001 Lead Auditor - Quality Certification from the ISO 9000 Network in 2014 and Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) from NIDMAR in 2010.
