Álvaro Rodríguez Arregui

Álvaro Rodríguez Arregui is co-founder and Managing Partner of IGNIA Partners, LLC, an impact investing fund for Latin America focused on commercial enterprises that serve the base of the pyramid. He is also the Chair of Compartamos Banco, the largest microfinance institution in Latin America. Previously, Álvaro served as Chief Executive Officer of Farmacias Benavides, the largest drugstore chain in Latin America, and Chief Financial Officer of Vitro and Grupo Salinas’s retail arm, Elektra. Álvaro was named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2005 and was included on the Forbes list of the world’s top 30 social entrepreneurs in 2011.
