Mike V. Gorbunov

Mike V. Gorbunov has a diverse work experience spanning across different industries and roles. Mike V. started their career as a Private English Tutor and Freelance Translator while being self-employed from 2004 to 2011. Mike V. then pursued a career in higher education as a Higher Education Lecturer and Corporate Website Administrator at Ivanovo State University from 2008 to 2011.

In 2011, Mike joined Social Quantum as a Game Designer, Commercial and Narrative Writer, where their responsibilities included creating game content, writing text for the user interface, and collaborating with artists, programmers, and designers. Mike V. later took on the role of Localization Specialist before transitioning to become a Localization Project Manager from 2013 to 2017. As a Localization Project Manager, they managed multiple complex projects and oversaw all aspects of product localization.

In 2017, Mike was promoted to the role of Head of Localization at Social Quantum. In this position, they were responsible for administering linguistic QA projects, developing project plans and budgets, and establishing relationships with industry colleagues. Mike V. also led department initiatives focused on translation quality, vendor strategy, and process improvements.

Mike V. Gorbunov completed their secondary education at School 30 in Ivanovo from 1992 to 2003. Mike V. then pursued a tertiary education in English philology at Ivanovo State University from 2003 to 2008, earning a Specialist degree. Following this, they attended Ivanovo State University once again, from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Doctor of Philology (PhD) degree, specializing in Germanic Languages.
