Dr. Joseph Karanja

Dr. Joseph Karanja holds a PhD in Peace and Security Management from Kenyatta University and serves as a Capacity Development Consultant for the Public Service Commission since 2023, as well as a Policy Research Fellow focusing on Urbanization and Security at Uppsala University. With extensive experience at Kenyatta University as a lecturer and mentor since 2015, Karanja specializes in various areas including fraud detection, security risk assessment, and restorative justice. Additionally, Karanja is involved in curriculum development and training at the Kenya School of Government and has participated in several prestigious research fellowships, including a notable cohort under the Social Science Research Council aimed at enhancing knowledge in peace and security from an African perspective. Previous teaching roles include positions at the Kenya Prison Staff Training College and Loresho Police Training College.
