Edmund Papworth has a wealth of experience in the renewable energy and finance sectors. Edmund began their career in 1998 as an Associate Director at Grant Thornton LLP, where they were the Staff Development Manager for over 80 people within the Project Finance team. In 2011, they became the Director of Renewables and Investor Relations at Norton Energy Solutions, where they worked to secure funding lines of £27m and won a £10m cash contract in the registered social landlord sector. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as the Interim Head of Access to Finance at GrowthAccelerator, where they set up a national team of over 30 advisers and raised over £25m. In 2014, they became a Partner at Jenson Solutions Ltd. From 2016 to 2019, they were the Finance Director at Minus7UK, where they were responsible for the finance team and informing the strategic direction of the business. In 2010, they became a Non-Ex Director at Universal Tool and Production (UTP) and led on the new factory build and development, as well as the installation of the UK's first commercially registered inter-seasonal heating and cooling system. Since 2019, they have been the Chief Financial Officer at Social Value Portal. Throughout their career, Edmund has been a passionate advocate for the electrification of heat to help improve air quality and lower carbon emissions.

Edmund Papworth's education history includes attending Lancing College from 1986 to 1991, The University of Edinburgh from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Economics, ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a CA degree in Chartered Accountant, and the University of Cambridge from 2018 to 2018, where they studied Business Sustainability Management.
