Emilie Perman serves as the Consumer Discretionary & Staples Sector Head at Socially Responsible Investment Portfolio since February 2023 and as an Analyst for Smart Woman Securities since January 2022, where engagement includes developing and presenting biannual stock pitch proposals. In the Fashion Business Association, Emilie holds the position of VP of Finance, previously serving as Director of Alumni Relations, focusing on building an alumni network and facilitating mentorship opportunities. Emilie also gained experience as an Equities Research Associate at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and has worked as a Lead Teacher for the Spartan Kids program at Orono Public Schools. Early career roles include Front Desk Receptionist at The Barre Wayzata. The Socially Responsible Investment Portfolio (SRI) is the first and largest student-managed investment fund at the University of Pittsburgh looking to outperform the S&P 500. With currently over $1,000,000 in assets under management, SRI provides opportunities for students to gain active investing and valuation experience. It was created by students and faculty at the University of Pittsburgh in association with the David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership and the Certificate in Leadership and Ethics Program. The organization's goal is to give members the opportunity to apply social responsibility along with the sound knowledge of finance in order to prepare students for careers in investment banking, investment management, consulting, sales & trading, and other competitive careers in the business industry.
