Valerie Ward has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Valerie most recently served as the Associate Director of Communications and Membership at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) starting in August 2021. Prior to this, Valerie held leadership positions at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, where they served as the Chief Marketing Officer from June 2020 to December 2020, and as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications from April 2019 to December 2020.
Valerie'sprevious roles include Marketing Director at RTA - Real Time Automation, Inc. from May 2018 to March 2019, Parish Consultant at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church from June 2017 to May 2018, and Executive Director at the Campanile Center for the Arts from April 2016 to April 2017.
Valerie's earliest work experiences include working as an Assistant Vice President in the Broker-Dealer Group at MetLife from 1997 to 2014, and as a Marketing Communications Specialist at Mystic River Software from 1996 to 1997. Valerie also held positions such as Marketing Coordinator at Octagon Systems from 1995 to 1996, Admissions Marketing Assistant at Denver Paralegal Institute from 1993 to 1995, and Marketing Associate at Government Leasing Company from 1992 to 1993.
Valerie Ward completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Marketing from Johnson & Wales University, where they studied from 1988 to 1992. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma from Matawan Regional High School from 1984 to 1988, specializing in a College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program.

The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) is the world’s leading member-driven organization specifically dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science and application of cancer immunotherapy. sitc_log_color.png Established in 1984, SITC, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, serves scientists, clinicians, academicians, patients, patient advocates, government representatives and industry leaders from around the world. Currently, SITC has more than 2,000 members who represent 22 medical specialties in 42 countries around the world. Through emphasis on high-caliber scientific meetings; dedication to education and outreach activities; focus on initiatives of major importance in the field; and commitment to collaborations with like-minded domestic and international organizations, government and regulatory agencies, associations and patient advocacy groups, SITC brings together all aspects of the cancer immunology and immunotherapy community.
