Carissa Demore

Team Leader of Preservation Services at Historic New England

Carissa Demore joined Historic New England in 2013 and was appointed Team Leader of Preservation Services in 2017. Her experience includes historic preservation advocacy, protecting properties using preservation and conservation easements, and developing educational programs, workshops, lectures, and tours for preservation students, professionals, and the general public. Carissa has a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Colorado State University and a Master’s degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland. She previously worked for the City of Annapolis, Maryland, and the L’Enfant Trust in Washington, D.C., and served on the boards of the New England Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians and the Downtown Waltham Partnership.
