Megan Lanning, CMP, DES has a diverse range of work experience in the events and meetings industry. Megan currently holds the position of Director, Meetings and Events at the Society of Actuaries since October 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Manager, Events at the Precast, Prestressed Concrete Institute for nearly 9 years.

Megan'searlier roles include working as a Corporate Events Coordinator at Experian from 2005 to 2011, a Convention & Tradeshow Coordinator at SmithBucklin from 2004 to 2005, an Exhibitor Specialist II at the National Restaurant Association from 2002 to 2004, and a Research Hostess at Smith Research from 2001 to 2002. Megan Lanning, CMP, DES completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Administration at Western Illinois University, where they studied from 1995 to 2000. In addition to their degree, Megan has also obtained the Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification from the Convention Industry Council and the Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification from PCMA.
