Marquis Holmes

President — KSU Chapter at Society of Professional Journalists

Marquis Holmes has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism. Marquis started their career as a Staff Writer for The Six Mile Post at Georgia Highlands College from January 2015 to May 2016. Marquis then became the President of the KSU Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in January 2017, where they were responsible for organizing events and maintaining membership. Concurrently, Marquis also served as the Editor-In-Chief of The Sentinel at Kennesaw State University, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the student-run newspaper. More recently, they worked as a Fall Intern for SPJ Region 3 - SizingUpTheSouth.com in 2018.

Marquis Holmes began their education journey by attending Georgia Highlands College from 2014 to 2016. During this time, they pursued an Associate of Arts degree with a focus on Journalism. In 2016, they transferred to Kennesaw State University and continued their studies until 2018. At Kennesaw State University, Marquis pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Emerging Media.
