Sophie Diehl has worked in the engineering field since 2014. Sophie started as a Researcher at Clean Air Task Force, then a Data Engineering Fellow at Insight Data Science, and then an Electrical Engineer at Makani. In 2020, they joined Sofar Ocean as an Electrical Engineer, and then in 2021 they were promoted to Electrical Engineering Manager, where they are responsible for designing hardware for https://www.bristlemouth.org/ and managing Sofar's EE team (2 direct reports). Sophie also co-led the engineering effort to develop and release Spotter V3, and was the lead engineer for the project adding cell network connectivity to Spotter buoy.
Sophie Diehl received their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014, having started their studies in 2010.
