Jonathan Hartmann

Mr. Hartmann brings over 25 years of leadership experience in General Management, Sales, Marketing, Strategy and Business Development in the Technology and Medical Device Industry.

Prior to joining Sofregen, Mr. Hartmann was the CEO at Axsun Technologies, a leading developer and supplier of MEMS-based optical engines for medical imaging, industrial spectroscopy, and optical telecommunications. Under Hartmann’s leadership, Axsun achieved significant milestones including the sales of over 15,000 swept lasers for OCT imaging applications and the launch of a breakthrough Tunable Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser platform. Before assuming the CEO responsibilities at Axsun, he served as Axsun’s GM and VP, then a subsidiary of Philips and Volcano Corporation. Prior to that, Mr. Hartmann spent 5 years at Volcano Corporation leading the Forward Looking IVUS and Structural Heart Business as GM and Business Unit Leader.

Mr. Hartmann’s background includes both small and large company experience. He spent 3 years as V.P. of Sales and Marketing for GI Dynamics, where he had global responsibility for introducing a novel technology for treating Diabetes and Obesity.

Prior to that, he spent 6 years in various leadership roles with Guidant Corporation for both Cardiac Rhythm Management and Vascular Intervention, including sales, marketing and business development roles. He also served as Market Development Manager at Urologix, a medical device start-up company that introduced a minimally invasive technology for the treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia. Prior to Urologix, Mr. Hartmann spent four years in sales and strategic development in the Vascular Division at W.L. Gore and Associates, and several years with U.S. Surgical’s minimally invasive surgical device group. Mr. Hartmann began his career at Xerox Corporation, where, for 4 years, he handled major accounts for its U.S. marketing group.

Mr. Hartmann earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. He received a BS degree from St. Lawrence University.
