Emma Yeats

Emma leads part of our Operations Team within Soil Association Certification, she is responsible for our Accreditation that provides assurance that our Certification delivery is executed with the highest level of Integrity. Emma also heads up our Organic and Food for Life Inspectorate, a team of 50 plus auditors located throughout the UK who are undertaking inspections across the country to ensure our Soil Association standards are being maintained.

Emma holds an MSc in Food and Agriculture from the University of Plymouth and has been involved with the organisation since 1999.

Emma has worked across many departments in Certification over her time here and amongst other achievements was responsible for Soil Association Certification becoming the first UKAS accredited Organic Certifier in the UK. Alongside this vast certification experience Emma has also had a period of practical organic farming and processing experience, working with her husband on their Organic Poultry farm and Organic Meat box scheme. Emma says that this has given her great insight into being on the receiving end of certification and also some real practical business understanding.
