Sojourners
Josina Guess is an Associate Editor at Sojourners since August 2023 and has an extensive background in writing, editing, and mentoring. With experience as a Managing Editor at The Bitter Southerner from December 2019 to December 2021, Josina has also been a Writer since December 2013, contributing personal essays, book reviews, and articles to various publications, including Sojourners and Christian Century. Previous roles include mentoring at Foothills Charter High School and communications work at Jubilee Partners, focusing on support and education for newly arrived refugee families. Josina holds a Master of Fine Arts in Narrative Nonfiction from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine/Studio Arts from Earlham College.

Sojourners is a national Christian organization committed to faith in action for social justice. We seek to inspire hope and build a movement to transform individuals, communities, the church, and the world. With a nearly 50-year history, Sojourners is a nonpartisan leader that convenes, builds alliances among, and mobilizes people of faith, focusing on racial and social justice, life and peace, and environmental stewardship. Working through Sojourners magazine, Sojourners’ website sojo.net, public speaking events, media outreach, educational resources, books, advocacy, and trainings, Sojourners is an internationally influential voice at the intersection of faith, politics, and culture.
