Sojourners
JR. Forasteros is an experienced teaching pastor and columnist with a strong background in youth and young adult ministry. Currently serving as a columnist for Sojourners since April 2022, JR. has been a teaching pastor at Catalyst Church since September 2014 and previously held the same role at Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene from August 2009 to September 2014. JR.'s early experience includes directing youth and student ministry at Parkade Baptist Church and contributing to the MizzouBSU as shared staff, where significant initiatives such as the 'Paradigm Shift' lecture series were developed. With two Master's degrees in Religion and Religious Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor's degree from Southwest Baptist University, JR. brings a robust educational foundation to ministry and community engagement.

With a nearly 50-year history, Sojourners is a nonpartisan leader that convenes, builds alliances among, and mobilizes people of faith, focusing on racial and social justice, life and peace, and environmental stewardship. Working through Sojourners magazine, Sojourners’ website sojo.net, public speaking events, media outreach, educational resources, books, advocacy, and trainings, Sojourners is an internationally influential voice at the intersection of faith, politics, and culture.
