Michael Weiner

Michael Weiner is a seasoned academic administrator and historian specializing in East Asian studies. Since 2005, Weiner has held multiple leadership positions at Soka University of America, including Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of East Asian History and International Studies. Prior to this role, Weiner was a Professor of Japanese History and Chair of Asian Studies at San Diego State University from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, Weiner served as a Reader in Modern Japanese History at The School of East Asian Studies, University of Sheffield, from 1983 to 2000. Educational background includes a PhD in Modern Japanese History and a Reader degree from The University of Sheffield.
