Ryan S. Eriksen, PhD has a diverse work experience starting in 2006. Ryan S. began as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Boston University College of Engineering where they were responsible for their own projects and assisting other graduate students. In 2010, they became a PhD student and received the Deans Award in their first year. Ryan S. conducted research on ceramic thermoelectrics, solid oxide fuel cell interconnects, and developed an electrochemical sensor. Additionally, they served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and managed multiple teaching laboratory sections.

In 2011, Eriksen worked as a Research Intern at Idaho National Laboratory.

From 2015 onwards, Eriksen worked at Boston University in various roles. Ryan S. started as a Postdoctoral Associate and became the project manager for a DOE funded project focused on self-cleaning solar mirrors and panels. Ryan S. also worked with collaborators and vendors to develop the technology and manage the team. Ryan S. then expanded their responsibilities as a Research Scientist to include grant writing, budgeting, and customer interviews.

In 2020, Eriksen co-founded Sol Clarity, a C-Corp aimed at commercializing self-cleaning solar power technology from Boston University. Ryan S. is currently serving as the Co-Founder and CEO of the company.

Ryan S. Eriksen, PhD, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science from Boston University, completing their studies between 2010 and 2015. Prior to their doctoral degree, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Physics from the same institution, studying from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their educational attainment, Ryan has also obtained a certification in Scale For ClimateTech Manufacturing Bootcamp from the institution For ClimateTech in November 2022.
