Knut Underbakke

Knut Underbakke currently serves as Kommunedirektør at Sola kommune since September 2020. Previously, Knut held the position of rådmann at Gjesdal kommune from June 2013 to September 2020 and at Rennesøy kommune from August 2008 to June 2013. Knut's career began in the public sector with roles at Fylkesmannen i Rogaland from October 2002 to August 2008 as ass. avdelingsdirektør and kst. avdelingsdirektør. Earlier experience includes work as rådgivar/prosjektleiar at Statens utdanningskontor between February 1997 and June 2002, and as førstekonsulent at Aetat from December 1995 to January 1997. Knut also served as sersjant and NK tropp in the Norwegian Armed Forces from June 1988 to June 1989. Educational credentials include a Cand.polit degree in social economics from the University of Bergen, attained between 1989 and 1995, along with prior education at Befalsskolen for infanteriet in Sør-Norge and Sauda videregåande skule.
