William Evans

Vice President, NRG Business at NRG Energy

William Evans has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. William started their career at the Office of the Vice President in the White House as the Director of Vice Presidential Messages and Vice Presidential Correspondent. From there, they worked in the Subcommittee on Rules & Organization of the House in various positions such as Staff Director, Legislative Director, Press Secretary, and Legislative Assistant. William then joined WorldCom/UUNET Technologies, Inc., where they served as Senior Lead in Web Hosting Customer Technical Support and later became a Team Lead as a Technical Account Manager. After that, they worked in the Subcommittee on Rules & Technology in the U.S. House of Representatives under Chairman John Linder, holding roles such as Staff Director, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff. Following that, they joined Mirant Energy Trading as a Senior Account Executive in Emissions. William then moved on to GenOn Energy, where they worked as a Manager in the Emissions Desk and later became the Director of Commercial Operations & Strategy. Finally, they joined NRG Energy, starting as the Senior Director of New Business Lines & Opportunities, then became the Senior Director of Strategy & Sales Performance, and eventually held the role of Vice President of NRG Business.

William Evans earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & Spanish from Colby College in 1990. William also attended St. John's Prep from 1982 to 1986. Later, they pursued an MBA from George Mason University - Costello College of Business, which they completed in 2001. Additionally, in 1989, they participated in the Marquette University in Madrid program at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
