Angela DeMonbreun has extensive work experience in various organizations. Angela is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Solar United Neighbors, where they also previously held the role of Florida Director. In these positions, they focused on implementing solar co-op programs in Florida, conducting outreach and communications, and developing relationships with community members and partner organizations.
Prior to their work at Solar United Neighbors, Angela served as the Environment Director for the League of Women Voters. In this role, they were responsible for leadership, strategy, executive director oversight, fundraising, program evaluation, and networking. Angela also served as the president of the organization for four years, driving membership growth and grassroots lobbying efforts in Northeast Florida.
Before their time at the League of Women Voters, Angela worked as the Marketing and Communications Manager at the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida. In this role, they developed and executed the organization's communications and public relations activities, as well as managed external visibility to community partners and stakeholders. Angela also served as a Marketplace Navigator for the organization.
Angela's experience also includes serving as the Regional Director for Jacksonville, FL at The Borgen Project, where they advocated for poverty reduction legislation and increased public awareness. Additionally, they worked as a Lead Intern for Senator George Lemiux in the United States Senate and as a Legal Assistant at the Law Office of Jefferson W. Morow, P.A.
Angela DeMonbreun attended Jacksonville University from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In addition to their degree, they also obtained a certification as a Marketplace Navigator from the US Department of Health and Human Services in October 2014.
