Nitin Arora, P.Eng. M.Sc., has diverse work experience in the engineering field. Nitin is currently employed as the Lead Project Engineer at Solaris MCI. Prior to this, they worked at Suncor Energy as a Senior Process Engineer from 2019 to 2021. Before joining Suncor Energy, Nitin was a Process Specialist at Bantrel from 2017 to 2019. During their time at Bantrel, they were involved in various projects, such as front end scoping studies and design for tank foam piping, decoking unit temporary systems, and boiler feed water control philosophy. Nitin also participated in design reviews and facilitated sessions with Husky.
Nitin's career began at the University of Alberta, where they worked as an MSc Research Student from 2013 to 2016. Their research focused on studying the extraction of bitumen from oil sands and inventing image analysis algorithms. Additionally, they designed a settling tank, conducted lab experiments, and analyzed a large dataset using statistical tools.
Prior to their studies at the University of Alberta, Nitin worked at UOP India Pvt Ltd. Nitin held various roles, including Design Engineer II, Field Service Advisor, and Career Development Program Engineer. As a Design Engineer, they performed engineering calculations, delivered design specifications, and supported detailed design work. As a Field Service Advisor, they traveled to customer operating plants globally to provide consultation and support for plant start-up and optimization. During their time as a Career Development Program Engineer, they developed and validated plant calculations in Unisim for specific technologies.
Throughout their career, Nitin has demonstrated expertise in technical vendor review, cost estimation, data analysis, and design. Nitin has also gained operational insight, which they incorporate into their work.
Nitin Arora, P.Eng. M.Sc. has a strong educational background in Chemical Engineering. Nitin obtained their Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Nitin then pursued further education and completed their Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta from 2013 to 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Nitin Arora has also obtained several certifications related to their field and professional development. Nitin has completed courses such as "Chemical and Lab Safety," "Construction Safety Training (CSTS)," and "Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)" from the University of Alberta in 2014.
