Christopher Powell

Chief Legal Officer at Solaris Oilfield

Christopher Powell serves as Chief Legal Officer for Solaris.

Christopher brings more than 16 years of broad practice experience to Solaris having represented both public and private companies during his career, most notably in the energy industry. Prior to joining Solaris, Christopher served as Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer for CARBO Ceramics Inc., a leading technology and services company providing products and services to the global oil and gas and industrial markets. Previously Christopher worked for Baker Hughes Incorporated as the company’s lead mergers and acquisitions and securities counsel, as well as division counsel for one of its business units. He began his career with the international law firm of Norton Rose Fulbright (formerly Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P.) working in the firm’s corporate and business finance section. Christopher obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Christopher is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant and worked as an auditor with Arthur Andersen LLP prior to obtaining his law degree. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Texas A&M University, where he was selected as a member of the Mays Business School Fellows Program, an undergraduate professional development, and leadership program.
