Joel Hulen

Joel Hulen has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering and development industry. From 1996 to 2001, they served as the CEO of Hiro Development Group, LLC. From 2001 to 2002, they were a Software Engineer and Database Developer for Apex Systems. From 2002 to 2003, they were the EITC Application Development Coordinator and Senior Software Engineer for Jacobs Sverdrup. Joel was also a Contractor for Solutrix LLC from 2003 to 2004. From 2004 to 2014, they were the Lead Software Engineer and Deputy Site Lead for Arma Global Corporation. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Senior Consultant for App vNext, a Senior Application Developer for JPL (NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory) / Columbus Technologies, and an Oracle DBA and Web Developer for Navstar. From 2016 to 2020, they were the Senior Cloud Solutions Architect and General Manager Training Practice for Solliance. In 2020, they became the VP of Engineering for Baseline.

Joel Hulen's education history includes attending Oaktree Academy from 1994 to 1996, followed by Great Bridge High School from 1992 to 1994. Joel then attended Tidewater Community College from 1996 to 1999, where they received an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. In addition, Joel has obtained numerous certifications, including A+ from CompTIA in 1996, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in 1997, Design and Implement Big Data Analytics Solutions from Microsoft in 2017, and a variety of Microsoft and Microsoft OpenHack certifications from 2021 to 2022. Most recently, they obtained Microsoft Certified: Azure Cosmos DB Developer Specialty in September 2022.
