Rowan Lewis

Instructor, Director Of African Affairs at SOLO Wilderness Medical School

Rowan Lewis has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. In 1990, Lewis worked as a Guide at Spurwing Island Safari Lodge, where they conducted game viewing activities for hotel guests and managed various duties. From 1993 to 2005, Lewis worked as the Director of Rowan Lewis Africa, providing travel and policy consultancy services for non-profit and missionary organizations, conducting wilderness first aid training, and offering personal travel medic services. In 2007, Lewis joined SOLO Wilderness Medical School as an Instructor and Director of African Affairs. They also worked as a Paramedic at Pottstown Medical Transport from 2014 onwards and as an EMT at Uwchlan Ambulance Corp from 2014 to 2019. Lewis gained experience in grant management and cross-cultural communications as a Grant Management Intern at Geneva Global in 2013. In 2019, they briefly served as a Manager at a self-employed capacity before becoming the Managing Director of SOLO Schools International in the same year.

Rowan Lewis completed a Certificate in Paramedicine from the Good Fellowship Training Institute in West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2010, Rowan attended the SOLO Wilderness Medicine School, where they obtained a degree in Wilderness Emergency and Disaster Medicine Education as an EMT-B. Additionally, Rowan attended Jameson High School, although the specific dates and degree obtained are not provided.
