Matt Bens is a Managing Principal in SCB’s San Francisco office, focused on the office’s overall operations and management. With 25+ years of experience, Matt has worked with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to successfully deliver complex projects in challenging urban settings. He has managed teams for numerous large-scale residential, commercial office, mixed-use, and adaptive reuse projects nationwide.

Matt’s notable projects include 17th and Broadway, a new multifamily development in downtown Oakland; 100 Van Ness, an adaptive re-use of a 29-story office tower into apartments in San Francisco’s Mid-Market district; and the ARQ at Cumulus, a new transit-oriented development between downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

Matt received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR).
