Alessandro Jacques Cortese

Alessandro Jacques Cortese is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and management within the fields of healthcare and association management. Currently serving as the CEO of the European SocieTy for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) since August 2009, Alessandro promotes excellence in radiation oncology through education, research, and community engagement. In addition, Alessandro holds the position of Co-Academic Director and Lecturer at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, specializing in Strategy and Change Management. Previous roles include President and Vice President of the European Society for Association Executives and Director of Association Management at MCI Group. Alessandro’s academic credentials include a PhD in Management Science from Antwerp Management School, along with degrees from Harvard Business School and Italian universities in Business Administration and Political Sciences.
