Mathieu Lesieur has a broad range of work experience in the field of chemistry. Mathieu started their career at Actelion as a Research Associate, where they focused on the synthesis of novel Topoisomerase inhibitors and developed new synthetic organic procedures. After their time at Actelion, Mathieu pursued a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry at the University of St Andrews. During their PhD, they conducted research on the design and synthesis of new ligands and metal-based complexes for homogeneous catalysis. Mathieu also gained experience in project management, supervision of students, and handling air, moisture, and light sensitive compounds. Mathieu's work during their PhD resulted in peer-reviewed publications and presentations at conferences. Following their PhD, Mathieu worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge in the Steve Ley group and at UCB as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Enabling Technologies Organic Synthesis. Currently, Mathieu is a Project Leader at Solvias, where they are involved in process development and catalysis projects.
Mathieu Lesieur earned a Master's degree in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry from Université de Haute-Alsace Mulhouse-Colmar in 2008 to 2011. Mathieu then went on to pursue an Engineer's degree in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Mulhouse, graduating in 2011. Following that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews between 2011 and 2015.
