Catherine Scart-Gres

Chief Medical Officer at SOM Biotech

Catherine Scart-Gres has a long and varied work experience. Catherine began their career in 1985 as a General Practitioner at the Cabinet de Ville. Catherine then worked as a Clinical Research Project Manager for Janssen-Cilag from 1991 to 1995, and for Glaxo-Wellcome from 1995 to 1999. In 1999, they became the Medical Director at Laboratoire Bouchara-Recordati. From 2007 to 2012, they served as the Medical Director and Head of Regulatory Affairs at CSL Behring France, where they were responsible for medicomarketing activities, scientific lobbying, sales force training and support, medical information and pharmacovigilance management, and early access programs for three drugs. From 2009 to 2016, they were the Head of International Clinical Development at Bioprojet, where they developed the first H3R antagonist/agonist in Phase II/III for narcolepsy and hypersomnia in Parkinson's Disease and sleep apnea. Finally, they have been the Chief Medical Officer at SOM Biotech since 2020.

Catherine Scart-Gres obtained their Doctor of Medicine degree from the Université de Médecine de Dijon Bourgogne in 1984. Catherine then completed a CES of Santé Publique from the Université de Médecine Paris V Pierre et Marie Curie in 1986. Finally, they earned a DU of Methodologie et d'Évaluation Thérapeutique from the Université de Médecine Paris VII Lariboisière Saint Louis in 1991.
