James Hemminger

James Hemminger is a seasoned professional with diverse experience in education and outdoor guiding. Currently serving as a Fly Fishing Guide at Rapids Camp Lodge since 2023, James holds a USCG OUPV License and specializes in guiding on the Naknek River for various fish species. Concurrently, James has been a Biology Teacher and head coach for Varsity Track and Field at Somerset Area School District since 2016, along with serving as an Assistant Rifle Coach, holding NRA Certified Rifle Instructor credentials. Prior to these roles, James worked as a Fishing Guide at Alagnak Lodge and participated in educational initiatives at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. James's academic background includes a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from Juniata College and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Secondary Education from the same institution, along with an earlier diploma from Somerset Area Senior High School.
