Gail Rebuck

Gail Rebuck serves as the Chair of Somerset House Trust since January 2022 and is a Member of the Management Committee at Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA since 2011. In addition, Gail is a Board Member at both The Guardian and Penguin Random House, with a history as Chief Executive Officer at Penguin Random House since 1991. As a Labour Peer in the UK House of Lords since September 2014, Gail has also held the position of Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council at the Royal College of Art from January 2015 to January 2022. Notably, Gail founded Quick Reads through The Reading Agency, which operated from 2006 to 2018, and also established the World Book Day Charity from 1998 to 2004. Educationally, Gail holds a Bachelor's degree in Intellectual History from the University of Sussex.
