Roberta B. Cowan

Roberta B. Cowan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in journalism and research. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at SOMO since December 2013, Roberta leads The Counter, focusing on partner-driven investigations into corporate practices causing environmental and social harm. Prior to this role, Roberta worked as a Reporter at Thomson Reuters, covering financial and corporate news in Europe, and at Dow Jones & The Wall Street Journal, where coverage encompassed AEX-listed companies across various sectors. Roberta's earlier roles include reporting for The Canadian Press and serving as a Communications Officer at the Transnational Institute, along with experience as an IFI Campaign Coordinator at Friends of the Earth International. Roberta holds a First Class degree (BA Hons) in Political Science from Queen's University, awarded in 1991.
