Alan Tombs

Alan Tombs is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and engineering management. Currently serving as the Embedded Software Team Leader at Sonardyne International Ltd since October 2014, Alan has full responsibility for the development and maintenance of embedded software and firmware for inertial sensor products. Previously, Alan was the Controls and Motion Team Leader at L-3 Link Simulation & Training, leading a team focused on flight controls and motion products. Earlier roles included positions at Thales Training and Simulation, where Alan worked on FPGA-based systems, and TRW Aeronautical Systems, where development adhered to RTCA DO178 standards. Alan holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Brunel University London and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from Aston University.
