Mr. Hallenbeck has spent over 30 years working with inventors, entrepreneurs, and university tech transfer offices in developing, funding, licensing, and commercializing technology, especially biotechnology and medical technology. He has worked with universities and both small and large companies to develop and commercialize the technology. Bob has done this both as a lawyer for Becton Dickinson but also as the head of business development and strategy, including a period where he ran BD’s venture capital fund. Although Bob retired from BD in 2015 after nearly 28 years, he continues to be involved in technology transfer and development through his role as Chair of both the Maryland Innovation Initiative and the Maryland E-innovation Program.
