Oliver Cullis

Oliver Cullis has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Oliver is currently working as a Principal Engineer at SonderMind since October 2022. Prior to that, they co-founded Hyr Medical in 2018 and held multiple roles as the CTO, CPO, and Co-founder. Oliver also worked as the Director of Product at Rethink Ed from April 2021 to October 2022.

Oliver has significant experience at Monarch Teaching Technologies, Inc., where they served as the CTO and Director of Product from January 2012 to April 2021. Oliver played a key role in the acquisition of MTT/Vizzle by Rethink. Oliver also briefly served as the Executive VP of Product Development and Technology from March 2015 to January 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and SCRUM Master during their tenure at MTT.

Before joining Monarch Teaching Technologies, Oliver worked at Nationwide Insurance from 2005 to 2012 as a Specialist. Oliver was involved in the development of internal claims and reporting systems, as well as the migration to Guidewire's commercial claims platform. Oliver worked on Agile teams and utilized technologies such as J2EE, Oracle, and Microstrategy.

Earlier in their career, Oliver worked as an Independent Consultant at Logix Investments from February 2004 to January 2006. Oliver also worked as a Consultant at CGI-AMS from May 2005 to November 2005, and as a Business Analyst/Project Manager at Specialized Business Software from January 2004 to February 2005.

Oliver Cullis obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science, English, and Medical Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University in 2001. Oliver then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Cognitive Linguistics from the same university, completing it between 2008 and 2011. In addition to their formal education, Oliver obtained various certifications, including "Network Analysis in Systems Biology," "Usable Security," "Visual Perception and the Brain," "The Brain and Space," "Experimental Methods in Systems Biology," and "Introduction to Systems Biology" from Coursera Verified Certificates in the years 2014 and 2015.
