William Ruehl

William Ruehl has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. William is currently serving as the Director of Project Management and Engineering at SONDORS Inc. since October 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Prototype and Test at Zero Motorcycles, Inc. from March 2014 to November 2021.

Before joining Zero Motorcycles, Inc., Ruehl worked at Kaney Aerospace as an Engineering Manager/Test Director. In this role, they provided leadership and technical guidance for qualification and flight readiness testing for the 787 Electrical Power Generation System. William also supported and maintained a multi-million dollar Aircraft Power Systems Integration Facility (APSIF). Additionally, they implemented a successful Quality Management System to improve lab activities.

Ruehl also served as a Sr. Systems Engineer at Symtx/AAI/Textron Inc from February 2005 to June 2009. In this position, they provided high-level system design support for sales and marketing and managed turn-key projects with a 100% success rate. William also assisted operations and in-house engineering teams during project execution.

Prior to that, Ruehl worked as a Sr. Systems Engineer at AAI Corporation (Symtx Inc) from 2004 to 2009. In this capacity, they utilized their expertise in system engineering to contribute to the company's projects.

Before joining the corporate world, Ruehl had entrepreneurial experience as the Owner/President of Mountain Design and Tool Inc. During this time, they designed custom fixtures for the Predictive Technologies Laboratories at the Picatinny Army Arsenal and manufactured custom RF fixtures for the True Position Corp.

Ruehl's career began at Instrumentation Engineering Inc where they worked as a Project Engineer from 1999 to 2002. William designed solutions for adapting customer products to commercial off-the-shelf test systems and led the mechanical engineering team. William also supported sales and business development initiatives with their design expertise.

William also worked as a Project Engineer at SVG Lithography Systems Inc from 1994 to 1999. Ruehl was involved in designing solutions to resolve obsolescence issues on lithographic exposure tools, integrating new technologies, and providing diagnostic support for specific systems.

Earlier in their career, Ruehl worked at ASML as a Supervisor - Project Engineer from 1994 to 1999, where they performed similar responsibilities related to lithographic exposure tools.

Ruehl's first job was as a Manufacturing Engineer at Perkin Elmer Inc from 1993 to 1994, where they designed tooling and test gear for harness and cable assembly and maintained a high assembly yield.
