Carol Mak has a diverse work experience in the music industry. Carol is currently working as a songwriter, artist, and producer at the Los Angeles Academy for Artists & Music Production. Carol is part of an intensive program that offers collaborative writing sessions, mentorship from industry professionals, and a fast-paced environment.
In 2022, Carol also worked as an artist at Songfinch, a company that creates personalized songs for customers. Prior to that, they worked at Songlorious, where they also served as an artist.
Before their current roles, Carol worked as a voice teacher, offering singing lessons in various styles such as classical, pop, and musical theatre. Carol also worked as a video production assistant at BerkleeNYC.
Carol has experience in counseling and content creation as well. Carol served as a counselor at Camp Unity, where they ran virtual programs for refugee children in Toronto and led a music and songwriting program for teenagers.
In addition, Carol has experience as a musical director, overseeing the activities of Tunes. Beats. Awesome. A Cappella group. Carol was responsible for planning rehearsals, deciding musical repertoire, and event planning.
Carol also worked as an assistant to the Music Booking Office at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music. Carol'sresponsibilities included data entry, client communications, event management, and rehearsal planning.
Lastly, Carol has worked as event staff at Secret City in 2017.
Carol Mak earned a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Toronto, where they studied from 2017 to 2021. Carol then pursued further education at Berklee College of Music, starting in 2021 and completing their studies in 2022. At Berklee, they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Creative & Digital Technology in Songwriting/Production.
