Kevin Hensley

Kevin Hensley, MBA CPSM, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Kevin began their career at SunTrust in 2001 as a Financial Services Representative before moving on to Bank of America as a Personal Banker in 2003. In 2004, Hensley joined CarMax as a Buyer in Training, and quickly advanced to the role of Buyer, where they were responsible for purchasing $10M in annual used cars across multiple locations. Kevin excelled in analyzing market data to accurately price inventory and optimizing the appraisal process for increased speed to market. In 2011, Hensley joined Sonic Automotive as a Sr. Inventory Specialist, where they expanded the company's portfolio to include used cars and implemented best practices in the used car space. Kevin then progressed to Divisional Procurement Manager, managing a $24M spend across HR, Facilities, and Corporate Real Estate, and pioneered the design and training of a P2P system. Hensley was later promoted to Director of Sourcing, where they managed a $60M spend and transformed the strategic sourcing process for the team. Currently, Hensley holds the position of Senior Director of Sourcing at Sonic Automotive. Throughout their career, Hensley has demonstrated strong leadership, the ability to drive continuous improvement, and a holistic approach to risk management and sustainability.

Kevin Hensley holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Kevin also has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Morehouse College. In addition to their degrees, Kevin has obtained certifications in Contract Lifecycle Management Advance (CLMA) from Coupa Software and Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from the Institute for Supply Management.
