Maren McGrane

Vice President, Communication, Culture & Strategic Initiatives at Sonic Automotive

Maren McGrane has a diverse work experience in various industries. Maren started their career in 2001 as a Policy Analyst for the State of Indiana and later worked as an Economic Development/Special Projects Manager for the City of Bloomington from 2003 to 2005. From 2006 to 2016, McGrane worked at Crowe Horwath LLP, where they held positions such as Staff Consultant, Senior Staff Consultant, Manager, and Senior Manager. During this time, they worked on projects in industries such as government, automotive, healthcare, higher education, and not-for-profit. In 2016, they joined Sonic Automotive as the Director of the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), and in 2018, they took on the additional role of Vice President of Communication, Culture & Strategic Initiatives. Maren has led the creation of the company's corporate communication and culture department and is responsible for internal communication strategy, teammate engagement programs, and various initiatives related to diversity and inclusion, employee well-being, and employer branding.

Maren McGrane earned a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Public Administration from Indiana University Bloomington, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. In addition to their degrees, McGrane obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2010.
