John Woody Mls, Mb (ASCP)

John Woody, MLS (ASCP), MB has a strong background in laboratory operations and management. John served as the Director of Clinical Operations at Sonic Reference Laboratory since July 2022. Prior to that, they were the Molecular Lab Associate Director at the same company from January 2017 to February 2023. Before joining Sonic Reference Laboratory, John worked at AIBioTech as the Clinical Genetics Manager from 2012 to 2017. In this role, they were responsible for personnel management, regulatory compliance, SOP authoring, and optimization of assay pipelines. Previous to AIBioTech, John worked as a Medical Technologist at Bostwick Laboratories from 2009 to 2011, where they specialized in clinical chemistry, special chemistry, and microbiology. John was also involved in the development and analysis of unique assays. John began their career in the United States Air Force as a Medical Laboratory Technician from 2005 to 2009.

John Woody, MLS (ASCP), MB has a strong educational background in the field of biomedical research and molecular biology. John obtained their Master of Science (MS) degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, General at the University of North Georgia between 2000 and 2003. In addition to their degrees, John has also obtained the certification of MB (ASCP) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in February 2015.
