Carter Hopkins

Carter Hopkins currently serves as Deputy General Counsel at SonicWall, a position held since October 2023. Prior to this, Carter was Vice President in the Legal department at Goldman Sachs from November 2017 to October 2023, providing legal and compliance guidance to senior leaders in technology and product teams. Earlier experience includes a tenure at Intel Security as Senior Counsel, where Carter managed legal issues for various business units and oversaw the in-house intellectual property litigation team. Responsibilities also involved extensive engagement in software and technology licensing and resolution of significant intellectual property disputes. Carter started the legal career as an Associate at Rose Walker, LLP, leading discovery in major intellectual property litigation. Educational qualifications consist of a Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Texas at Austin.
