David Darknell

Principal Engineer R&D at Sonitus Technologies

David Darknell has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. David began their career at Quinta Corporation as a Design Engineer, where they provided electrical design, test, and fabrication support for MEMS and optical research. During their time there, they were involved in the co-design of one of the industry's first DVD mastering machine controllers.

Following their role at Quinta Corporation, Darknell joined Capella Photonics as the Manager of Hardware Development. David was responsible for all of Capella's electrical designs and successfully led the team through multiple product launches, transitioning them from R&D concept to production.

Darknell then moved on to LoadStar Sensors, Inc., where they served as the Director of Engineering. David'steam developed a range of products, including capacitive load cells, portable battery-powered display products, and high-accuracy load cell interface modules.

In 2010, Darknell joined GreenVolts as the Principal Power Design Engineer. During their time there, they designed and co-developed 8kW and 16kW AC inverter designs, built test hardware and equipment for production testing, and successfully brought up the company's first functional 8kW inverter.

In 2011, Darknell joined Vocera Communications as a Staff Engineer (Lead). In this role, they spearheaded the development of Vocera's "next-generation" badge product and designed their primary handheld communication badge device. This product was hailed as the best badge product ever released by Vocera.

Darknell then became an Investor and a member of the Board of Directors at Etheric Networks in 2005.

Currently, Darknell is working at Sonitus Technologies Inc. as the Principal Engineer R&D. David joined the company to help solve issues with their existing product and guide new engineering development. David'sexpertise as a Senior Engineer has enabled the team to successfully solve outstanding issues encountered so far. Darknell is also responsible for redesigning their product for volume manufacture.

David Darknell attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics. No specific start or end date for their education was provided.
