Americo also served as the Global Head of Social and Alternative Media at Shell, managing the brand's social media strategy and presence on various platforms. Americo was responsible for developing new channels and touchpoints with modern consumers using emerging technologies.

In addition, Americo worked as the Global Media Manager at Shell, overseeing the company's global media budget and developing media strategies across all audiences and geographies. Americo also held roles such as Global Marketing Communications Manager and Global Fuels Marketing Communications Manager, where they designed and managed global promotions and integrated communications for Shell.

Prior to their time at Shell, Americo gained experience at PUBLICIS as an Account Director, managing high-profile accounts such as BP, Bank Fonsecas & Burnay, Tranquilidade, LANCOME, and Renault.

Outside of Shell, Americo served as the Board Chair at SocialMedia.org, a community for social media leaders at top brands. During their tenure, they represented Shell and led its membership within the community.

Americo de Campos Silva has a diverse education history. In terms of higher education, they completed a Strategic Data Driven Marketing program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in 2014. Prior to this, they attended the IMD in 2009 for the Responsible Leadership Summit, as well as in 2008 for a Discovery Event focused on Reinventing Marketing. In 2007, they took a course at the London Business School on Building the Customer Focused Organization, and in 2006, they attended another program at the same institution on Financial Seminar for Senior Managers. Additionally, in 2005, they participated in an Executive Leadership Training at IMD. Earlier in their career, they pursued a Pós-Graduação in Marketing at ISG Instituto Superior Gestao from 1996 to 1997. Lastly, they obtained a Licenciatura in Advertising and Public Relations from INP Instituto Superior Novas Profissoes between 1985 and 1989.
