Tom Walsh

Tom Walsh is a Senior Research Scientist at SonyAI since July 2020, with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and data science. Previously, Tom served as Senior Director of AI and Data Science at Kronos Incorporated, where leadership involved applying AI and machine learning techniques to workforce management data, addressing fraud detection and forecasting. Prior to that role, Tom was a Director of Data Science and Senior Data Scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), utilizing reinforcement learning and Bayesian non-parametric methods. Tom's earlier positions include Research Associate at The University of Kansas, Senior Specialist at Accenture, and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Arizona and Rutgers University. Tom holds a PhD in Computer Science from Rutgers University and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
