Erni Ali

Staff Software Engineer at Sony Interactive Entertainment

Erni Ali has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. They started their career as a Grader and Lab Aide at City College of San Francisco in 2009 and also worked as a Math Mentor and Grader for the Physics and Computer Science departments. In 2011, Erni was a Quality Assurance Engineer Intern at Ark.com, where they collaborated with a team of developers to track and resolve quality problems.

Erni then joined Sony Network Entertainment Int'l (SNEI) as a Software QA Intern in 2012 and gained experience in writing unit tests, integrating test frameworks, and performing performance testing. They continued as a Software Development / QA Intern in 2013, where they further honed their skills in writing unit tests and extracting HTTP Archive files.

In 2012, Erni began working at PlayStation™Network - Sony Network Entertainment Int'l as a Software Engineer I, where they contributed to implementing visual features and integrating the PS Now Subscription service. They then progressed to the role of Software Engineer II, leading a team and earning a grand prize in a company hackathon.

Erni joined Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2016 as a Software Engineer II and was responsible for implementing new features on the PS4 using Ember.js. They were involved in shipping the Content Details Page on the PS4. In 2018, Erni was promoted to the role of Senior Software Engineer and continued their work until February 2023.

Currently, Erni is working at Sony Interactive Entertainment as a Staff Software Engineer, starting in November 2022.

Erni Ali received their Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science from City College of San Francisco, where they attended from 2008 to 2011. Erni further continued their education at San Jose State University from 2011 to 2013, earning their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Software Engineering.
