Senior Corporate Counsel - Global IP Enforcement at Sony Interactive Entertainment

Nicola Borthwick has extensive work experience in the field of intellectual property law. Nicola currently holds the position of Senior Corporate Counsel - Global IP Enforcement at Sony Interactive Entertainment since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an IP Counsel at Philip Morris International from September 2017 to January 2022. Nicola also served as a Senior Associate at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP from October 2012 to August 2017. Before that, they worked as a Senior Associate at Pinsent Masons from November 2006 to August 2012, where they specialized in general commercial disputes and contentious intellectual property matters. Nicola began their legal career as a Solicitor at Dundas & Wilson (now CMS Scotland) from 2004 to 2006.

Nicola Borthwick completed a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) (Honours) degree from the University of Glasgow between 1997 and 2001. In 2000, they also studied at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) for a Junior Honours Degree year, focusing on Defamation and Media Law, Employment Law, and Australian Court Procedure. Subsequently, in 2001, Nicola pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The University of Edinburgh. Later, in 2009 and 2010, they attended Nottingham Trent University, where they obtained a PGDip in Commercial Intellectual Property.
