Toshi Taino has had an extensive and diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Starting in 1992, Taino worked at KDDI Corporation as a Senior Manager in Product Planning, where they managed international digital transmission services and collaborated with global telecommunication companies. In 1999, they joined Sony and founded a subsidiary company focusing on PC-based video streaming services. During their time at Sony, Taino managed content acquisition deals with various companies, including movie studios and TV stations. In 2006, Taino transitioned to PlayStation and served as a Senior Manager in PlayStation Network Service Operations. Toshi successfully introduced and maintained the PlayStation Network business and operations in Japan, as well as established relationships with third-party game publishers and movie studios. Taino then joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2009 as an Executive Director, managing communication and project coordination with Sony headquarters. Toshi also acted as a bridge between Sony Pictures and Sony HQ to introduce professional products to production teams. Returning to PlayStation in 2010, Taino held various roles, including Senior Director of Program Management Office. In this position, they program managed software developments for games, store commerce, and subscription features, contributing to the successful launch of PlayStation 4. Taino also led digital business sales and strategy for PlayStation Store and Service in the Japan and Asia region. Finally, Taino joined Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2021 as the Vice President of Program Management Office.
Toshi Taino attended Keio University from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government.
