Jose Maria Tiñana

Jose Maria Tiñana has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Jose Maria started their career as a Java Developer at Parsec SL, and then went on to work as a J2EE Analyst at REDES, where they analyzed and developed new functionalities for the ESNIC project. Jose Maria later worked at Data Adviser as a J2EE Architect and Head of Development, where they designed and implemented turnkey projects and introduced new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.

Jose Maria then became the owner of their own consulting and software development company, Only Solutions, where they offered custom Java/J2EE-based developments and digital transformation services. After that, they joined Altana Consulting as a J2EE Architect and Team Leader, where they defined the architecture for web applications and implemented projects for clients such as the National Agency of Quality Evaluation & Accreditation and the National Energy Commission of Spain.

Jose Maria then worked at SICPA as a Team Leader, where they implemented Track & Trace solutions and a Border Control system. Jose Maria had frequent travel to government facilities for presale meetings and negotiations with government officials.

Next, they joined Expedia, Inc. as a Technical Product Manager II, responsible for delivering software projects within the Competitive Intelligence division. Jose Maria then moved on to Nexthink as a Platform Engineering Manager, managing cloud teams and overseeing the implementation of a cloud-native stack for the Data Platform.

Most recently, they are working at Firmenich as a Senior Application Lead, where they are designing a new architecture for Pre-sales and integrating legacy systems into the new architecture. In the future, they will be joining SOPHiA GENETICS as the Head of Architecture and Technology Innovation.

Jose Maria Tiñana has a Bachelor of Science degree in Informatica from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, which they obtained from 1997 to 2005. Jose Maria also has a Project Management Expert degree from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D., which they obtained from 2011 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Jose Maria Tiñana has obtained several certifications. Jose Maria is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS), which they obtained in December 2021.
